Investigator: A medical practitioner able to prove sufficient experience who is authorised to practice in France in the conditions defined by the Public Health Act (art. L4111-1 of the Public Health Act [Code de la Santé Publique]. He/She directs and monitors the practical implementation of a clinical study. He/She is responsible for the safety of the subjects included in the study.
INSERM: National institute for health and medical research

Sponsor: Any person or legal entity that takes on the responsibility of setting up and/or financing a clinical study.
Healthcare protocol: A medical document certifying good practice in performing a medical or paramedical act, according to the literature, a shared clinical experience, or even recommendations of a consensus of professionals.
